We are planning our 25 Year Reunion for the weekend of Homecoming, October 5-7, 2012!
We plan to meet up at the football game on Friday night and hang out informally at Double R Sports Bar (owned by classmate Lonnie Harris) afterward. This will be a family-friendly night, so bring the kids. There will be cornhole, air hockey, pool, and other games available. The Double R will be open to the public as well that night, and the bar will be selling beer and wine. The Double R Sports Bar will be located at 1001 Roanoke Ave. Municipal parking is located behind the building at the Sanitary District office.
Lonnie is closing the Double R to the public on Saturday night for our adults-only main event from 7 pm until. Heavy hors d'oeuvres will be served and there will be a DJ. Beer and wine will be sold at the bar and we may have a brown bag permit (to be confirmed later). '80s attire is encouraged. :-) There may be a possibility of arranging child care for out-of-town classmates with some of the locals' teenage kids, to prevent anyone from having to miss Saturday night's event due to not having child care.
Sunday we will be having another family-friendly event, a picnic at Roanoke Rapids Lake Park at 11:30 am. Hot dogs, hamburgers, and chips will be provided, bring a side if you wish.
